Superior Court is located on the upper level of the County Courthouse, at 14777 State Route 89 in Markleeville.

On July 1, 1998, the Municipal and Superior Courts of Alpine County unified into a single Superior Court. If you are filing a pleading, the following caption should be used:

Superior Court performs the following services:

• Processes civil filings and civil dissolutions
• Administers criminal proceedings, juvenile court and probate court
• Assists the Grand Jury with proceedings
• Administers small claims court
• Processes traffic tickets, Fish & Game violations, non-traffic infractions, misdemeanors and felonies

Independent contractors provide Public Defender services for Alpine County.
